Succinct - A decentralized prover network.
Raised $55 million in two rounds led by top venture capital firm Paradigm.
Although the ZKVM track is highly competitive, with projects like Risc Zero putting pressure from both sides, Succinct possesses the most advanced ZKVM technology available today, making it a leader in this field. Its goal is to simplify zero-knowledge proofs.
Polygon, Celestia, Avail, and others have utilized Succinct's infrastructure to build ZKP. Prior to this, it was already a project with solid revenue.
The core technology of Succinct is SP1. SP1 is a high-performance, general-purpose zkVM that simplifies zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) development and supports blockchain applications (such as Rollups, co-processors, and light clients). It provides maintainable code through Rust, accelerates development and deployment, and offers ultra-fast performance at a low cost.
Notably, SP1 is the fastest zkVM, exhibiting ultra-fast performance across various real blockchain workloads (including light clients and rollups). Using SP1, the cost of ZKP proofs is an order of magnitude lower than other zkVMs and even circuits, making it both economically efficient and fast in practical use.
Team Overview
This year marks the first year of the Nine Purple Leaving Fire movement, a year of female empowerment. Recently, there has been an increasing number of female CEOs emerging in the blockchain industry.
Uma Roy: A female founder, co-founder, and CEO of Succinct, previously an engineer at Gantry. She holds a master's degree in computer science from MIT.
John Guibas: Co-founder of Succinct Labs, graduated from Stanford University in the United States.
Funding Situation
Raised $12 million in seed round, with participating institutions including Paradigm, Robot Ventures, Standard Crypto, and Gnosis VC.
Raised $43 million in Series A, with participating institutions including Paradigm, Robot Ventures, Standard Crypto, Bankless Ventures, Geometry, ZKValidator (ZKV), Sreeram Kannan, Sandeep Nailwal, John Adler, Daniel Lubarov, Elad Gil, Eugene Chen, Andrew Huang, Ye Zhang, and Dev Ojha.
Both rounds were led by Paradigm.
How to Participate Now
Succinct briefly opened closed testnet slots. Current testnet slots require an activation code to activate.
There are currently three ways to obtain a closed testnet activation code. A total of 25,000 slots are available, with approximately 2,000 remaining, so it's worth a try!
1) Create meaningful and passionate content about Succinct and ZK, such as writing high-quality posts, engaging in meaningful discussions, and producing works using other creative media (art, music, memes, videos), and share them in contributions and memes-art-media:Succinct: within your circle to help expand our influence.
2) Interact with posts from @SuccinctLabs, @pumatheuma, @jtguibas, and the Succinct team on X.
3) Mention @SuccinctLabs in discussions about ZK proofs, scalability, and verifiable computing.
The current closed testnet is relatively easier and more fun compared to other testnets, mainly involving answering questions and mini-games. The goal is to accumulate stars, with a higher probability of more stars leading to a higher airdrop ratio. Some KOLs even predict that one star equals 8U.
After obtaining the activation code, activate it on the website: testnet.succinct.xyz. The first time you play, you need to transfer 10U, and no further transfers are required. The project team will transfer test U to the testnet address weekly, allowing everyone to accumulate stars.
Weekly image recognition (Veristar) and quiz (truthlens) do not require spending U, while other games do require U. The weekly U is limited, so to earn more stars, you need to maximize the stars earned per U.
- Image recognition and quizzes can find correct answers online to ensure you get 22 stars.
- Vitalik's verification game is the simplest but has a high single-use cost of 5U, making it less cost-effective.
- The community considers Floppy GPU (total cost 1-2U) to be the second least cost-effective.
- Other games like 2048 (0.1U/star), Turbo Racing (0.1U/star), volleyball (0.1U/star), etc., depend on which type of game you are better at; play the one you excel in.
The most chosen option by the community is the weekly free star projects like image recognition (Veristar) and quizzes (truthlens), with the remaining U spent on Turbo Racing.
