In reality, people make predictions about various events every day—political elections, policy changes, technological developments, etc.—but these judgments are difficult to trade or verify in the existing markets.
Opinion Labs was created to address this issue.
Project Introduction
Opinion Labs is a decentralized prediction market protocol deployed on Monad, allowing anyone to create prediction markets on any topic and trade using ERC-20 tokens. Users can make judgments about future trends in political, economic, sports, or cultural events and express their views or place bets through the market. These markets are open and permissionless, allowing anyone to participate without relying on centralized platforms or approval processes.
The core infrastructure of Opinion Labs is the Opinion Protocol, a decentralized protocol that supports the rapid creation and trading of prediction markets. It is open in structure, allowing any DApp to connect and build applications based on predictive logic. The protocol is scalable and transparent, suitable for generating markets on various topics and asset types.
To ensure the credibility of market outcomes, Opinion Labs has also built the Consensus Oracle. This mechanism records event results on-chain through participant consensus, serving as the basis for market settlement. Its operation relies on cryptoeconomic incentives to ensure the accuracy of data recording and the security of the system.
Overall, Opinion Labs provides a market mechanism-based information expression framework that aims to solve the issues of limited trading scope and information opacity in current markets, offering accessible predictive infrastructure for various decentralized applications.
Thus, the core problems that Opinion Labs addresses are twofold:
First, it breaks down the barriers to creating prediction markets. In the past, creating a prediction market was complex, and ordinary people could hardly do it. Opinion Labs makes this as simple as posting a social update.
Second, it makes "truth" more public and transparent. In decentralized markets, people express their beliefs with real money, without intermediaries manipulating information; the market prices reflect the true judgments of participants, thus getting closer to the facts.
Project Background and Development Status
According to RootData, on March 28, 2025, Opinion Labs secured $5 million in seed funding, led by Yzi Labs, with participation from well-known investment institutions including Amber Group and Manifold Trading.
In terms of project progress, Opinion Labs has launched their first product, AlphaOrBeta, a prediction market platform where users can vote on popular events to participate in predictions or create their own prediction events. Additionally, their main product, O.Labs Prediction Market, is still in the testnet phase.

According to the official website, Opinion Labs has reached a trading volume of $43 million, with a weekly trading volume of $9.2 million and nearly 700,000 active addresses.
