VeChain, a layer one blockchain platform focused on practical application scenarios, announced that UFC CEO Dana White will become its latest official advisor, dedicated to enhancing the awareness of blockchain technology in mainstream fields.

As the founder of Power Slap, White will join Nobel Prize-winning physicist Konstantin Novoselov on the VeChain advisory board. Together, they aim to promote the application of blockchain technology in the real world by combining "complementary expertise in mass marketing and technological innovation."

"VeChain is an important partner of UFC and Power Slap, and I am honored to join their advisory board," White said in an interview with Cointelegraph. "I am passionate about technology and look forward to helping elevate the brand to new heights through their products and innovations."

This initiative is expected to significantly expand the influence of blockchain technology. UFC's programming reaches over 950 million households worldwide, providing VeChain with a crucial opportunity to connect with new users.

White will play a key role in promoting VeChain's sustainability initiative, VeBetterDAO. VeBetterDAO is a decentralized platform that encourages "sustainable actions in the real world" through its incentive token (B3TR).

VeChain confirmed to Cointelegraph that White will not receive any B3TR or VeChain tokens (VET) as compensation for his advisory role.

UFC has already begun applying VeChain's technology by embedding near-field communication (NFC) chips in the next generation of fight gloves.
