From AI asset registration to Sahara Legends gamified tasks.

This Monday (May 19), the AI-native full-stack Web3 platform Sahara AI officially launched its public test network SIWA, opening up channels for AI creation, collaboration, and monetization for developers across the blockchain.
Sahara AI stated that SIWA is the first public entry point for the Sahara blockchain. As underlying infrastructure, its core function is to provide verifiable rights confirmation, permission management, and on-chain monetization capabilities for AI assets such as datasets and models, establishing trustworthy and traceable AI collaboration standards.
The SIWA testnet will be rolled out in four phases:
- Phase One (Current): Focused on "decentralized data rights confirmation," supporting users to register their own datasets on-chain, mint ERC-721 format data ownership certificates, and endow data with traceable, quantifiable, and profit-sharing asset attributes.
- Subsequent Phases: Gradually introducing permission and revenue distribution mechanisms, permissionless open-source testnet, automatic revenue sharing pipelines, and other features.
In the roadmap released last December, Sahara AI stated that it will launch the Sahara Chain mainnet in Q3 2025, providing the on-chain infrastructure needed to support large-scale decentralized AI.
During the private testing phase, Sahara AI has achieved notable results. The total number of accounts has surpassed 3.2 million, with daily active accounts exceeding 1.4 million, among which over 200,000 users participated in data labeling tasks, fully demonstrating the market's attention to Sahara AI.
What is the background of Sahara AI?
On the team side, Sahara AI co-founder and CEO Sean Ren is also an associate professor at the University of Southern California and has received honors such as the MIT TR35 Innovators Under 35 (Asia-Pacific) and Forbes Asia 30 Under 30. Another co-founder and COO Tyler Zhou previously served as the investment director at Binance Labs.
In terms of financing, Sahara AI has raised a total of $49 million, building a luxurious investment matrix from "traditional capital + crypto-native." In March 2024, Sahara AI announced the completion of a $6 million seed round led by Polychain Capital, with participation from Samsung Next and others. In August 2024, Sahara AI announced the completion of a $43 million financing round led by Binance Labs, Pantera Capital, and Polychain Capital, with participation from Samsung, Matrix Partners, Thailand's Kasikorn Bank, Foresight Ventures, dao5, Alumni Ventures, Geekcartel, Nomad Capital, Mirana Ventures, and others.
Interaction Strategy
Currently, the Sahara AI public test network SIWA only supports tokenized AI models, datasets, and agents, and will later open up AI agent construction and support the buying and selling of AI datasets, models, and agents in a peer-to-peer marketplace.
1. AI Asset Registration Guide:
Open https://app.saharalabs.ai/developer-platform/main/explore and connect your wallet.
Create a Profile, upload an avatar, fill in your birth year, gender, and country.
Claim 0.1 SAH from the faucet (https://faucet.saharalabs.ai/). This faucet requires the Ethereum mainnet balance of the wallet address used to be at least 0.01 ETH.
Click to register AI assets, fill in naming, details, language, comments, and upload datasets (file formats must be csv, json, or txt) for minting, with the minted asset being in ERC721 format.
In the left My Asset section, view the minted assets.
2. Data Service Platform (DSP) Tasks
Currently requires whitelist permissions, but the open beta will be launched on May 27, 2025. Select data labeling tasks (such as classification, labeling images or text) on the DSP, and earn Sahara points upon completion.
3. Sahara Legends Gamified Tasks (Launched on January 30)
Open https://legends.saharalabs.ai/, connect your wallet, and then explore 5 desert tasks.
Complete daily check-ins and social media tasks in the Gobi Desert to earn shards (no need to claim on Galxe);
Register on the data service platform in the Sahara Desert; other tasks require whitelist applications. Currently, I cannot unlock other desert tasks.
The rewards center shows that by collecting enough shards in each desert, you can awaken its guardian and claim a soulbound NFT on the Sahara testnet, commemorating the achievements and contributions made in the early development of the Sahara AI ecosystem. Once all five desert guardian NFTs are collected, you can create an exclusive Bitsy Soulbound NFT on the Sahara testnet.
