Many friends I've chatted with have asked me this question, especially when they hear me say that I only sleep 5 to 6 hours a day. This is mainly because I always appear to be full of energy whenever they see me. First of all, my sleep is deep, and I hardly ever experience insomnia. As long as I want to sleep, I can fall asleep anytime and anywhere, so there is almost no loss.
Secondly, I have many dreams. Although there are reports that dreaming is a sign of light sleep, my sleep quality is surprisingly good. For example, yesterday I slept for three hours, then played with the chipmunks all day, and in the evening, I drank half a bottle of Wuliangye. When I got home, I could continue typing, of course, after taking a shower, and then I slept for about two hours.
So as long as I feel sleepy, I will just fall asleep. Generally, I wake up after two hours, so most of the time I sleep twice, adding up to a total of 5 to 6 hours. I especially like to sleep for the second time after dinner, so I usually wake up around 8 or 9 PM, and naturally, I feel great in the evening.
Of course, this is highly not recommended, as it puts quite a bit of pressure on the body. It varies from person to person, because I don’t find typing tiring, so at least for me, there is no mental pressure; it’s even a rather pleasant emotion, and I don’t feel tense, so I remain quite relaxed.
Additionally, although I've been doing it less recently, I usually choose to swim or take a cold shower after getting up in the morning. Swimming, in particular, helps a lot, and I feel energetic throughout the day.
Also, I wonder if any friends remember that I have maintained intermittent fasting for seven years, eating only one meal a day, which is dinner. I don’t eat any snacks, and apart from dinner and the fruit after the meal, I basically don’t eat anything else. I only drink ice water (ice cubes + drinks or water), and I have almost quit carbonated drinks, mainly just having juice and yogurt (both after dinner). I insist on taking a fizzy tablet every day.
Most friends who have met me offline know that I still have a lot of energy, which should be related to my more laid-back personality. Mainly, I don’t see writing content as a hard or tiring job, but rather as a form of entertainment.
