Tether’s USDT0 and XAUT0 Arrive on Solana via Layerzero
Solana just scored a major liquidity boost. Managed by Everdawn Labs, USDT0 and XAUT0 are designed to extend Tether’s reach by bridging its stablecoin and gold-backed token to blockchains where they aren’t natively issued.
The launch aims to unify Tether liquidity across the digital asset ecosystem while showcasing Solana’s growing dominance as a home for decentralized finance (DeFi) and real-world assets (RWAs).
At the heart of this integration is Layerzero—the blockchain world’s multilingual translator. Omnichain by design, Layerzero is a trustless interoperability protocol that lets decentralized applications (dApps) and smart contracts gossip across blockchains, swapping data and digital value securely, at scale, and without middlemen.
Through USDT0’s “Legacy Mesh,” Solana now connects directly with native USDT liquidity from Ethereum, Tron, TON, and other major chains. This cross-chain superhighway allows users to move stablecoins freely between ecosystems—no wrapped tokens, no clunky bridges, just seamless liquidity flow.
Tamar Menteshashvili, head of stablecoins at the Solana Foundation, said the integration “strengthens both the Solana and Tether ecosystems” by enabling “the fastest and most cost-efficient access for USDT holders” across DeFi, payments, and institutional finance.
Since its debut, USDT0 has already processed over $25 billion in bridge volume across nine networks, the announcement on Wednesday notes. Now, Solana users can tap that same unified liquidity for dApps, payments, and onchain treasury tools—all while paying some of the lowest fees in crypto.
Meanwhile, XAUT0 brings Tether Gold’s Omnichain version to Solana, unlocking programmable, gold-backed assets that can be used for lending, collateral, and hedging. With gold prices near record highs, XAUT0 adds a glimmer of RWA stability to Solana’s blazing speed.
