Circle, in its quest to help startups raise money by issuing digital tokens, has acquired SeedInvest which helps private companies raise money from individuals on the internet. SeedInvest is a regulated crowdfunding platform that is compliant with Reg D, Reg A, and Reg Crowdfunding. As a result, the pending deal could make Circle a frontrunner for listing tokens that might be considered securities. In reference to SeedInvest, "This was a company who had been at the forefront of collaborating with government to figure out how to make it possible to innovate in the way people raise capital," said Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire. (Source: Bloomberg)
