Currently, "raising shrimp" is no longer a difficult task, but how to master OpenClaw and truly utilize it to make direct profits still troubles many shrimp farmers.
Last week, I chatted with some deep users of OpenClaw in the cryptocurrency circle. Some said that OpenClaw's heartbeat mechanism and timed tasks can improve the efficiency of news trading, but more interviewees believe that making money with OpenClaw is still challenging. However, where there is a will, there is a way. A trader namedKevin assisted by OpenClaw, quadrupled an initial capital of 30,000 dollars within 10 days, with a net profit of 100,000 dollars (currently slightly back-tested to 82,000 dollars). Kevin himself said that initially, this was just an experiment, and he did not expect to actually make money.

So how did Kevin turn OpenClaw from a mere toy that burns tokens into a money-making machine? Odaily Planet Daily chatted with Kevin, and he shared his personal crypto experience and how he navigated OpenClaw in the prediction market, hoping readers can gain some inspiration.
Transition from "Scientist" to "Prophet"
Kevin's early career was mainly in ERP architecture design for enterprises, and later he joined one of the top three internet companies in China to build a sports betting software system from scratch. This professional experience laid the foundation for Kevin's achievements in the prediction market today. After 2018, Kevin worked in a Web3 investment firm, mainly incubating and accelerating startups.
But Kevin's first pot of gold in a real sense was obtained five years after entering the space. In 2023, ordi emerged, opening up the "Summer of Inscriptions" for the crypto market. With a background in computers and coding, Kevin became one of the "scientists" highly sought after in the market at that time (Odaily note: scientists refer to those who can quickly write programs and code to deploy new assets during the inscription phase).
"The time when ordi was listed on Binance was when the value of my account assets peaked, and I ended up making about 2 million RMB." Kevin claimed he was among the first to participate in the ordi initial offering with a cost of less than 1 RMB per coin, and subsequently enjoyed thousands of times of appreciation.
After the frenzy of inscriptions died down, Kevin began looking for other opportunities and finally started to seriously study and participate in the prediction market Polymarket in the summer of 2025. "I had played with Polymarket before, but the liquidity was very poor, so I ignored it." For Kevin, who had previously engaged in traditional sports betting, early Polymarket's trading depth was completely inadequate.
However, after Polymarket successfully predicted Donald Trump's presidency as the 47th President of the United States in 2025, Kevin's attention returned to Polymarket. "After 2025, Polymarket's reputation improved, and its liquidity could accommodate large orders. More importantly, depositing and withdrawing funds became very convenient," thus Kevin began experimenting with algorithms on Polymarket and became a "prophet."
Kevin's journey in the prediction market can be divided into two stages: before using OpenClaw's assistance and after using OpenClaw's assistance. To present this clearly, Odaily Planet Daily has summarized Kevin's sharing as follows, enjoy~
How to Play the Prediction Market Before Using OpenClaw
Odaily Planet Daily: After you started playing Polymarket in the summer of 2025, how much did you invest, and what was your final profit?
Kevin: At that time, the total investment was around 100,000 dollars, and as of this year, the total profit is about double the initial capital.
Odaily Planet Daily: What strategy did you mainly adopt?
Kevin: I don't bet myself but earn money through automated arbitrage by writing programs. When I was working on the sports betting system at the Web3 internet company, I was also involved in the design of order betting, and this experience was very helpful for understanding Polymarket's order betting. Therefore, I used programs to take the user spreads between the markets, especially for sports events, where I could engage in a lot of sentiment arbitrage.
Odaily Planet Daily: Do you have a dedicated team, and is anyone providing you with funds?
Kevin: I did this all by myself, just with AI assistance. Initially, I was worried that Polymarket would freeze withdrawals, so I ran dozens of accounts, but later found that the deposit and withdrawal processes were very smooth, so I reduced the number of accounts. I mainly used my own money to run the strategy, but there were indeed some people who provided funds for me to help run their strategies; however, this is just one way to make money.
How to Play the Prediction Market After Using OpenClaw
Odaily Planet Daily: So when did you start using OpenClaw to engage in the prediction market?
Kevin: At the end of February, this itself was also an experiment to see how much money OpenClaw could earn at the trading level, but I didn’t expect to actually make money. For the account KevinChe202603, I used a cost of 30,000 dollars to earn a maximum of 100,000 dollars in just 10 days.
Odaily Planet Daily: What is your specific strategy?
Kevin: To put it frankly, the strategy for this account is mixed; currently, 60% is still running the previous automated arbitrage algorithm, and 40% is using "lobster" for subjective betting. Compared to market-making arbitrage, betting is a very complex decision, considering the smart money in the prediction market, public sentiment, formations, player conditions, and more. OpenClaw's role here is to actively collect various different factors that determine the outcome of the matches, and then turn them into an indicator; after training multiple times, it can find other influencing factors that I might not have noticed, saving me a lot of time and cognitive effort.
Odaily Planet Daily: But isn’t that just AI predicting the matches? Conversational AI can do that too; there are even developers who specifically created AI tools for match predictions. What is special about OpenClaw?
Kevin: Mastering the information advantage is just one of OpenClaw's strengths; it can also discover new strategies on its own, perform back-tests, and automate betting during matches. If the strategy is good, all we need to do is provide OpenClaw with money, and everything else is automated, which is something that AI prediction tools cannot do. For example, it can actively identify smart money addresses and fool addresses, either betting alongside smart money or treating fool addresses as contrarian indications.
Additionally, this is why Polymarket integrates well with OpenClaw among all prediction markets because Polymarket's API is the most friendly to AI, and it is very convenient for AI to call data.
Odaily Planet Daily: Which fields is OpenClaw primarily betting on now, and has it achieved full automation?
Kevin: Based on my areas of expertise, currently, OpenClaw is also mainly experimenting in the field of sports competitions, but if it matures later, I will consider having OpenClaw expand into other areas. Right now, I give OpenClaw a small amount of capital for automated betting, around 1000 dollars, as I still hesitate to put too much money in fully automated accounts.
Odaily Planet Daily: Is your set of strategies replicable? Or will you write some Skills for the market in the future?
Kevin: I am also trying to see if there are indeed users who have this need, and see if I can combine my methodology with it so everyone can build a profitable lobster. I also plan to package some Skills for the market later, of course, this will definitely be paid.
