Talk about my feelings when I was managing risk control for trading varieties on the MT4 platform:

1. For varieties that can be traded continuously, the risk control management risk is relatively small, for example: forex, gold, silver, etc., which can basically be traded continuously for 22 to 23 hours, with a maximum of 1 to 2 hours of settlement time, which is a brief market closure from 5 to 6 AM in the Eastern Eight Time Zone, and this brief closure usually does not lead to significant gaps;

2. For Hang Seng Index futures and Dow Jones Index futures, which have market closures, special caution is needed. Some clients exploit high leverage, small margin, and large positions, where a few minutes before the market closes, one account goes long while another goes short. The next day, if there is a gap at the market open, then one account will be liquidated (which means losing the margin), while the other account will make a big profit, causing loss to the platform;

3. Even for forex, gold, silver, and other continuously traded varieties, if it's before a Friday or some holiday, the risk is also very large. After a weekend or holiday, typically on Monday or after the holiday ends, there will be significant gaps, which increases the risk;

However, since clients who hedge profits between position A and position B, or clients who bet on gaps with large positions and small margins, the platform cannot prohibit them from placing orders, nor can it stop them from making money;

The common practice in the industry is to increase margin for overnight, weekend, and holiday trades. For example, if a 10,000 yuan position is opened with 100 times leverage, the daytime trading margin is 100 USD, but for an overnight position, the leverage must be reduced to 10 times, so the overnight margin will be 1,000 USD. If the market is nearing close, and the client does not add margin, the platform has the right to forcibly close the position at the closing price;

When encountering weekends or holidays, leverage must be reduced to 5 times, so the margin for the 10,000 yuan position would be 2,000 USD. If the market is nearing close and the client does not add margin, the platform will forcibly close the position!

Many inexperienced MT4 platforms have suffered significant losses, and there are many tactics for exploiting MT4 platforms that I will not list one by one. Generally, when MT4 platforms suffer losses, they usually accept it, change the rules immediately, and will not block withdrawals!
