The report indicated that two ships belonging to the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) were intercepted by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps while attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz and were unable to proceed; another ship registered in Greece was also intercepted and is currently anchored in Iranian offshore waters. The UK Maritime Trade Operations Office issued two reports on that day, stating that there were two reports of ships being attacked in the Persian Gulf and surrounding waters.
