We welcome progress being made in reforming the international financial architecture to make it fairer and more effective for countries in the Global South. The growing consensus on the need for a development-oriented sovereign debt framework, where public debt is a tool for growth and not a source of distress, is a decisive step towards sustainable development. It is time to rally behind the outcome document of the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development, which reflects renewed commitment to multilateralism and equitable progress.
