🧵 1. Existence and Time: From Turing to Satoshi Nakamoto, a temporal ontology is emerging.
Not all times are the same, and not all 'existences' can prove themselves.
Science and philosophy have come to a crossroads in 'time'.
Einstein's "scientific time"=homogeneous, measurable, and spatialized time.
Time is a one-dimensional coordinate system that is reversible, referenceable, and ensures that the speed of light remains constant.
Kant's' philosophical time 'is also homogeneous and a priori cognitive form.
But he cannot explain the generation and irreversibility of the 'now'.
4/Bergson breaks the assumption of homogeneous time and distinguishes between two types of time:
Time flies: determinable and spatializable
Current occurrence time: uncertain, with quality differences, irreversible
The true 'now' is not a measurable length, but 'happening'.
Every moment is full of creativity and possibility, thus possessing a 'density of existence'.
Heidegger said: Only by questioning the meaning of existence can existence have meaning.
Existence is not an object, but the 'existence' of the being itself.
The "double spending problem" of Bitcoin is an existential issue.
Whether the transaction is established cannot be verified by the system in real-time.
It is a 'self referential paradox'.
8/Satoshi Nakamoto's breakthrough: Let "time" determine the validity of undecidable transactions.
The irreversible growth of a chain is the computational engineering of irreversible time.
9/G ö del: completeness vs consistency cannot hold simultaneously.
Turing: Formal systems are unable to handle their own existence problems internally.
Turing's response: Constructing an "ordinal logic system" and introducing two new weapons:
Oracle Turing Machine: Introducing External Judgment
Ultra poor iteration: Time to time system updates
Every time a new axiom is introduced, the system is no longer the same as before.
This is the existing 'dissipative structure' - the self generation of the system.
12/Prigogin: The real order is not a static equilibrium, but an irreversible generation.
Time is real, not an illusion. Irreversibility is a fundamental attribute of existence.
13/G ö del+Turing+Prigogin+Bergson combined said the same thing:
The problem of self referential existence must be resolved by irreversible time
14/Bitcoin is the engineering implementation of this philosophy of time.
Unresolvable issues are resolved through a chain time structure.
Our lives are the same:
Every cognition and growth is an irreversible unfolding of time, updating the boundaries of one's own existence.
16/Self is an ordinal system that constantly generates over time.
We are never a static me, but a Time to Time 'chain of existence'.
17/Conclusion:
We don't discover ourselves in space, but become ourselves in time
