[Bitfinex Analyst: The Start of Altcoin Season May Depend on the Launch of Altcoin ETFs]
BlockBeats News, August 26, according to a report by Cointelegraph, Bitfinex analysts stated that unless ETFs allowing investors to access higher-risk crypto assets are introduced, altcoins may not experience widespread, significant rebounds.
With Bitcoin's (BTC) market dominance dropping by 6% over the past 30 days, participants in the crypto market have been anticipating a rebound in the altcoin market, or the so-called 'altcoin season.' However, in a market report released on Monday, Bitfinex analysts indicated that they do not expect an 'altcoin season' to occur before later this year. Such a scenario would only be possible if capital flows into Bitcoin products regain momentum and new investment tools targeting altcoins are introduced.
Bitfinex analysts noted that the market currently exhibits a 'low risk appetite' characteristic in this cycle. They added: 'Although capital inflows remain positive, the moderate trend reflects more cautious investor behavior, which contrasts with the aggressive demand seen during previous all-time highs (ATH).'
Coinbase Institutional's Global Head of Research, David Duong, holds a different view. He recently stated, 'As September approaches, the current market conditions suggest a potential shift toward a full-fledged altcoin season.'
