I held a Staff meeting. Many details were covered concerning preparations for the heating season. First, we focused on monitoring the implementation of instructions and the full execution of agreements with our partners. Since the summer, we have been preparing our energy sectors for the winter. I am grateful to everyone involved who is fully carrying out their assigned tasks. It is essential to stay ahead of schedule in our preparations, taking into account all threats. Second, air defense needs. I instructed the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Rustem Umerov, to coordinate government officials, regional administrations, and energy companies on the procurement of additional short- and medium-range air defense systems, as well as on increasing funding for drone manufacturers. The priority is intercepting “shaheds.” Reports on deliveries are to be submitted weekly. We also discussed the protection of networks and energy facilities in frontline and border communities, along with backup supply. Third, reports were presented on extraction, energy resources supply, and power generation. Important results have been achieved by the teams of Naftogaz and Ukrenergo – thank you. Further measures have been approved for the purchase of the necessary gas volumes. There was also a significant component regarding the Air Force. We are accelerating the supply of additional air defense systems to enhance protection against missiles. We count on the maximum efforts of Ukrainian diplomats in their contacts with partners. We are preparing a Technological Staff meeting involving producers of Ukrainian missiles, key types of drones, and air defense tools. We will increase the production of our strike capabilities.
