Power Alcoholism I agree with Big Boss and respectfully disagree with my favorite Senator, @SenJohnKennedy. The filibuster should be deleted. The concern Congress has is that this will be used by the left if they take power again, that the filibuster serves as a check on unmitigated majoritarian power and that it is dangerous to cross this Rubicon. The problem is that the Rubicon has already been crossed. During the Biden years we saw the first glimpse of leftist fascism with the merger of state and corporate power where political enemies were debanked, censored and imprisoned. Now with the tankies taking over the Democrat party, the use of the state apparatus to suppress political opposition will be kicked into overdrive should they take power again. The Biden administration was moderate compared to what is coming. It only makes sense to preserve the norms of the Republic if we indeed live in one but that has long since not been the case. As polarization continues, the stakes get higher and the game becomes more all-or-nothing. The Marxists talk in hushed whispers of violent revolution. This cannot come to pass. The Schumer old guard of the Democrat party, who may be willing to play by the old rules, has been captured by the ascendant AOC/Bernie/Mamdani faction. This is the reality we must contend with. These communists are the power alcoholics of the left. They give a wink and a nod to their Antifa paramilitary supporters while speaking nonviolent nothings out of the side of their mouth. Senator Kennedy, I know you are a good and decent man, but I humbly ask you to reconsider your position here. To the left, I say this. Big Boss has the mandate of the people so don’t try to impede him on his agenda. Wine snobs are only a few misfortunes away from becoming alcoholics. If you try to slow Trump down, the real power alcoholics of the right will become ascendant. The aristocratic factions of BAP/Nietzcheans and NRx along with the populist faction of Bannon/Fuentes all say that Trump is not much of a drinker. You think we won’t put Trump’s face on EBT cards but we will. Push comes to shove, we might even go trust busting to purge the woke Millennial managerial class with worthless basket-weaving degrees from large megacorporates. We could support Newsom anonymously to slow the ascent of the tankie faction. We could drive leftist wedge issues to split your coalition. And there’s much crazier things we can do that we just haven’t yet, things that would blow your mind. We just don’t want the situation to devolve into two drunks wrestling in the mud.
