PlaysOut Completes $7 Million Seed Round Financing, Aiming at the Mini Game Market

PlaysOut recently completed a $7 million seed round financing, achieving a post-investment valuation of $70 million. This multi-engine mini game platform has received support from well-known investment institutions such as OKX Ventures, KBW Ventures, and Pacific Century Group, and is actively positioning itself in a market expected to be worth between $6 billion and $10 billion. In this article, co-founder Jassem Osseiran shares the significance of this round of financing and discusses PlaysOut's plans for the future development of embedded games.

Osseiran stated that this round of financing is a "key step" for PlaysOut, with funds allocated to three core directions: expanding the mini game ecosystem, establishing strategic partnerships, and exploring high-growth markets such as the United States, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and Asia.

"This funding allows us to focus on creating high-quality mini games, expanding the ecosystem, and achieving key collaborations with super apps," Osseiran pointed out. "We are building a seamless, immersive way for users to easily experience mini games within the applications they use daily. This round of financing will accelerate this process."

Strategic Investments Beyond Capital

The investors in this round not only provide financial support but also bring strategic advantages to PlaysOut across different regions and industries.

"OKX Ventures helps us delve into the Web3 space, optimize our token strategy, and reach a large native crypto user base," Osseiran said. "KBW Ventures strengthens our positioning in the MENA market, while Pacific Century Group creates significant opportunities for us in the technology and media sectors in Asia."

With the support of these strategic investors, PlaysOut is expected to efficiently tackle industry challenges and accelerate its scaling efforts.

The Sleeping Giant: The Rise of Mini Games

PlaysOut bets that mini games will become a new stronghold in digital entertainment. In China, WeChat mini games have generated billions of dollars in revenue, but the global market still lacks the corresponding infrastructure for seamless expansion.

"Currently, outside of China, there is no mature infrastructure globally that allows developers to easily publish, monetize, and provide incentives for users," Osseiran stated. "This is where PlaysOut sees its opportunity."

PlaysOut plans to empower platforms like Telegram, Discord, and YouTube, enabling developers to reach a vast user base at low cost and promote the globalization of the mini game ecosystem.

Osseiran likens PlaysOut to a "mini game version of Steam," with its embedded SDK simplifying the integration process for developers while providing monetization and user interaction tools for platforms. "For developers, PlaysOut offers a global audience, simplified integration, and strong monetization capabilities; for platforms, it is a solution to enhance user engagement and create new revenue without the need to reshape their architecture."

Connecting Web2 and Web3

Although Web3 has higher ownership attributes and monetization potential, most players do not care about blockchain technology. PlaysOut's strategy is to achieve seamless integration of blockchain features without affecting the gaming experience.

"Most players care about game quality, not Web3 technology," Osseiran pointed out. "Our goal is to ensure that the user experience is smooth, intuitive, and fun."

PlaysOut embeds blockchain technology in its underlying architecture, allowing players to truly own game assets while optimizing the in-game economy without directly interacting with complex crypto mechanisms.

PlaysOut's rapid expansion is supported by collaborations with Web2 and Web3 giants such as Tencent Cloud, OKX, Aptos, and TON. "Tencent Cloud provides us with global deployment technical support, while Web3 partners bring community resources and blockchain infrastructure," Osseiran stated. "We are not only pursuing collaborative brands but are also looking for strategic partners that can truly accelerate our growth."

PlaysOut's Future Layout

In the context of giants like LinkedIn, Meta, and Netflix ramping up their gaming businesses, PlaysOut hopes to become the infrastructure provider that supports seamless game integration across all applications.

"We are redefining Game as a Service (GaaS)," Osseiran stated. "Our platform can redistribute successful games to the most suitable scenarios, allowing any application—regardless of size—to enhance user engagement and achieve commercialization through games."

PlaysOut plans to launch its SDK in May, enabling developers to build and publish games more conveniently. Additionally, the platform's token generation event (TGE) will further optimize incentive mechanisms and drive growth.

"Our commercial product is currently undergoing BETA testing on Android, and iOS users will soon experience it through TestFlight," Osseiran revealed. "We are moving at an extremely fast pace, and this is just the beginning."

With strong investor support, PlaysOut is gradually driving the innovation of the mini game ecosystem, reshaping the global interactive entertainment experience through seamless integration.
