The Sandbox SANDChain Launch Coming Soon: What to Know

The Sandbox is gearing up to disrupt the creator economy with its latest SANDchain launch. The creator-first blockchain network is set to debut its testnet on October 14, offering a suite of innovative tools and features to empower creators.

What is interesting about this project? SANDchain is a high-speed Layer 2 blockchain that is designed for the creator economy, with transaction speeds greater than 10,000 transactions per second and at a very inexpensive cost. SANDchain builds off of the ecosystem's established ecosystem and economy with the existing $SAND token, which is in the top 100 cryptocurrencies on over 80 global exchanges. It has more than 8 million wallet users, more than 25,000 LANDowners, more than 400 brand partners, and an incredible amount of user-generated content, including more than 1,500 games created by creators, and over 700,000 user-generated experiences.

SANDChain Launch is on the Horizon

During TOKEN2049 in Singapore , the Sandbox team announced the forthcoming launch of SANDChain--the latest major upgrade to The Sandbox ecosystem. The public testnet is slated for launch on October 14, 2025, and early access signups are now available via the SANDchain Creator Manifesto.

The platform has already garnered significant support, with a diverse range of partners on board, including Animoca Brands, ZKsync, Sequence, EigenCloud, Ready Player Me, Request Finance, Mocaverse, Cool Cats. Notable creators include BabyYors, Alex Florez, and Pandapops, as well as brands like Agoria and Pucca. The Sandbox Co-founder Sébastien Borget noted ,

“The Sandbox has empowered a global community of creators, and SANDchain builds on that foundation to create a dedicated economic and engagement layer for creators across any platform, including YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, App Store, Google Play Store, Steam, Roblox, Fortnite and The Sandbox itself. By rewarding loyalty, we're transforming fans into active participants in culture and paving the way towards a 'Creator Nation' that is built, owned, grown, and funded by its creators and supporters."

How It Works?

Sébastian Borget further stated that by utilizing the platform's existing ecosystem of over 8 million users, 400+ brand partnerships, and the SAND token, the platform is building the foundation for a decentralized economy that empowers creativity at scale. He added that for game developers, it would enable them to launch loyalty points, quests, and game tokens seamlessly, eliminating concerns over slow transaction validation times.

The project introduces three key features to strengthen creator-fan relationships:

  • SANDpoints : A network-wide loyalty and reputation system.

  • Creator Points : Tracking individual support for developers, unlocking exclusive perks, and token allocations.

  • Creator Tokens : Tradeable assets tied to a creator's brand.

In addition, the platform's financial infrastructure includes creator vaults and patron vaults. While the former allows developers to tokenize future revenue streams from platforms like YouTube and TikTok, Patron vaults enable fans to fund loans, earning yield and loyalty points in return.

CEO Robby Yung said in a statement, “The Sandbox is thrilled to partner with The SANDChain Foundation…to provide creators with funding rails, automated revenue management, and ways to turn audience support into tangible growth.”
