We often say that “word is wind”, as if words have no weight or consequence. But in today’s world, wind is energy, and words carry power. Words shape how we think, guide how we feel, and reflect the quality of leadership we embrace. We are living in a time where truth is under attack, sacrificed at the altar of political gain. Lies and half-truths are being circulated by the Opposition, not just in the heat of campaigns, but through a sustained strategy to mislead and confuse. I urge you to be discerning. Not everything you read on social media, hear on talk shows, or see on the Opposition’s platform is grounded in fact. The Bible reminds us: “Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who deal truthfully are His delight.” As your Government, we are committed to truth in public communication. Whether it’s on social media, in official releases, or speeches, we ensure that what we put forward is factual, honest, and aligned with national interest, not personal popularity. We can speak the truth because we have the record to support it. We’ve cut the national debt in half. For 10 consecutive national budgets, we have not introduced a single new tax. That has never happened before in Jamaica’s history. When we took office, unemployment stood at 13%. Today, it’s down to just 3%. The task before us now is to train and certify the unskilled youth, approximately 20,000 Jamaicans, so they can seize job opportunities in our growing economy. We are delivering the substance, and the results are visible across every parish in this country.
